To keep a quilt or wall-hanging from "waving"---Use a 1/8 inch gross-grain ribbon or another 1/8 in. ribbon that won't stretch. You can buy this on a spool or by the yard.
Measure your quilt or wall-hanging through the center for width and length as you would for applying binding. Cut two pieces for width and two pieces for length. Pin each strip to the ends and the middle of the quilt at the outer edges to make sure you distribute the ribbon evenly along the edge. Sew each strip down. Use a smaller stitch for doing this. Since the ribbon is only 1/8 in. wide, it will be hidden within the binding and will not show.
To help get ink-jet ink out of fabric, try spritzing with really "cheap" hair spray, not the expensive kind.
To remove blood from fabric, blot with hydrogen peroxide till removed.
Blue water soluable pen marks can sometimes be hard to remove. Add a little "baking soda" to the water when spritzing the marks. Should take it right off.
When using powdered chalk to mark a quilt, try spraying lightly with starch to help "set" the chalk so you can work it without the chalk coming right off.
If you cut yourself while using a rotary cutter, try spraying "Afrin Nasal Spray" on it. There is an ingredient in the spray that stops bleeding, or, if you want, use Super Glue to close the wound.
